On the V10 issue, like Russk, I am not a mechanic but how can an engine been unbalanced if has a V positioned even number of cyclinders? Wouldn't the imbalance then be created by the trans, coolers, or other components? Some very interesting comments on the other post on Quora but it seems like there will always be differing perspectives based on the trade offs involved. I'll take a NA V10 or V12 over a blown anything any day. :)
Not to derail this thread but it's not that the V10 when it roles off the assembly line is in a state of imbalance rather to create balance they have to use a "balancing shaft" to offset the rotating assembly imbalance. Now I am pretty far from an engineer or mechanic myself but maybe there are forum members that can enlighten us. My question would be if there is an inherent imbalance necessitating the use of a balancing shaft what are the long term implications, if any, on the engine durability?

Addendum: I think that I may have found the answer given the Huracan V10 is set at a 90 degree angle they avoid the need for a balancing shaft by using an odd-firing order. Quote: "90 degree V10, but is arranged in an odd-firing order to allow for smooth operation without a balance shaft".
PS: Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

@PHXDIABLO, I'm jealous of that Diablo garage! They both look awesome! I'm sure that SV is king at most cars and coffee. I'm thinking of swapping my Gallardo Gated 50th for a Diablo VT. Any advice? Please PM me.

V6's are also inherently inbalanced, but they've engineered this out. V10 more then gimmick more cylinders mean more torque, wider power band

MC20 looks amazing! Glad to see another entry in the 2xxk mid-engined supercar segment. I hope it's well sorted, could make a nice addition to garage 🤔 I want to see F8 vs 570 vs Huracan RWD vs MC20 comparison test

That would be a great comparison I'd love to see. I really want to see that MC20 in person.

Take a look......
In response to the article:
The writer has no idea what he's talking about :ROFLMAO: His engineering concept is based on book from the 80s. I think he said that fat people is "less balanced" than thin people. But sumo players can somersault and fart so loud like no tomorrow. That is why people love big cylinder cars because they are balanced and sounded so good. Once you go big, it's hard to go small :sneaky:

See post #21/addendum, I think I found the answer.....hopefully it's the correct one.

Yes, that is correct. There was a thread about the balancing shaft back in 2015:

I really liked the simplicity and smoothness of the new Maserati. and the doors of course.

630 HP.

Isn't it a good comeback?

I like it. Wrote to Maserati in Austin this morning and asked how I get on the waiting list/get an allocation :).

It's a pretty car in the metal. The first one delivered to my dealer is a customer order in the launch colors of white and blue but the customer still hasn't taken delivery yet because his garage isn't finished so it's on display. My friend is taking delivery in the near future of the 2nd MC20 in Hyper Green.

The coupe is reasonably priced for what you get such as carbon fiber chassis, butterfly doors etc and I like the simple yet functional interior. My GSM says the hardtop vert will be revealed soon with a base price around $250K or less.

Unfortunately he told me the sound is worse than the F8 due to the Nettuno TTV6 and the F8 already sounds weak.

It is really nice, and very well built. I’ve yet to hear or see one in person.

Looks like the info is now out on the vert. Funny, I read this today then just saw this thread. It does look sweet! Maserati’s Gorgeous New MC20 Cielo Spyder Is Like Driving a Supercar Made of Sky

Haha he was right about the reveal being right around the corner. IMO the hardtop vert looks nicer. I like the buttresses it reminds me of my 458 Spider which creates more of a Targa-type cockpit with less wind turbulance and not as much dirt on the seats as a true vert like my California. Once a week I would wipe down the California's rear seats the Cuoio leather would show dirt after only a few top down drives.

Good luck! I was offered an MC20 allocation before my Tecnica deposit. When I specced my Tecnica I told the GSM I wanted a December alocation so I could take delivery next May but if the wait stretches out more than 1 year for the T, I will roll it over to the MC20 spyder. Im having Separation Anxiety with my H's Volume Control Knob thus requesting a Tecnica delivery in one year and not sooner.

I like the MC20 alot. I like the girly curved lines of it. Wouldn’t buy one that quick at the moment due to depreciation Masers mostly do. It’s a much rarer car than the Huracán (not that long in production yet) and Masers are somehow where I live more a girlsmagnet than Lambo’s are. (Louwman, Maser Importer, says they sell alot of Masers to female customers because of classic branding… so to say). Nowadays Huracáns here are becoming more of a Youtuber car or Pharmacy car (read as XTC), so when I can hit the button again for expansion of my Rennstal, first choice would be a V12 Lambo (not that ‘image’) or definitely a MC20…
